On Stuff and Things

Brief

This was my Final Major Project for university. The brief was open to us, and having recently completed my dissertation exploring the conceptual discussion of “stuff” vs “things”, I wanted to further explore this research in a visual medium, particularly post-pandemic, where we were spending a considerable amount of time surrounded by our stuff. Find my self-written brief here.

The main goal of this project was to create a project that could provoke others to reconsider their objects and spaces, and encourage re-interpretation of their emotional attachments, as well as the importance of owning physical, tangible objects in a digital world.

I initially anticipated a very practical and physical outcome to this project (as can be seen in the brief), and went through a few phases of exploration before landing on this much cleaner, slicker and ironically digital-looking approach.
