Support Them By

Brief

Whilst mental wellbeing’s importance has been more and more recognised over the past few years, when tasked with a campaign project I wanted to attempt to answer the question – how do you actually, genuinely support someone who needs it?

I found that information was shockingly inaccessible - buried deep in websites or lacked true reliability (i.e. TikTok). This project was important to me as I personally have struggled with knowing how to meaningfully be there for someone as well as having experienced the frustration of someone else wanting to help but not quite knowing how.

Backed by trusted names Mind and Time To Change, the campaign uses various OOH and social activations with big, clear and accessible visuals that tell you literally at a glance how you could help.

Whilst not the be-all-and-end-all of supporting those struggling with their mental health, this project aimed to provide simple starter ideas with hopes of initiating a wider conversation.

One way of further extending the campaign would be to have a free pick-up pack including information from Mind and Time To Change, available at doctor’s surgeries, pharmacies and could even be used in schools to support conversations around mental health.

The message is bold and clear to maintain the message of not being ashamed to ask for help, whatever position you might be in.
